Born in Seattle, Washington before moving to the East Coast, Sean Ritchie grew up in the heart of central Vermont. In high school he quickly developed a deep appreciation for music and picked up the bass guitar as his primary instrument. Sean went on to perform in local bands as well as playing in his school’s jazz combo and funk band throughout high school. Before graduating, Sean had the opportunity to share the stage with RnB pianist Brockett Parsons (Donnell Jones, Lady Gaga). After high school Sean moved to Boston where he attended Berklee College of Music in 2014. Under the mentorship of Chris Loftlin (Music director/ Bassist, Brian Mcknight) Sean gained a true appreciation for RnB, soul, and funk rock while developing a professional work ethic. After a year of immersion at Berklee, Sean took the skills he had honed and set his sights on the greater Los Angeles music scene.
With his unique blend of modern Rock and Roll and old school Motown and funk influences, Sean works to provide accompaniment and bass lines that are firmly rooted in the soul and pop hits of the 20th century while adding his own contemporary edge to the music. Sean currently keeps busy freelancing as a sideman for various artists in Los Angeles.
